Our Story
Started in 2013, in beautiful downtown Redlands, CA, The Living Root Café (formerly The Living Root Cellar) is a craft juicery and vegan café like no other. We specialize in organic, cold-pressed juices, superfood smoothies, and delicious, made-from-scratch plant-based food.
When we took over LRC in 2017, our mission was to challenge the status quo of “quick service restaurants” by redefining how a restaurant should sell food. This has become even more relevant now in a post-pandemic climate, as more people prioritize their health and seek natural, clean nutrition. As such, we don’t fry or grill our food, and work hard to avoid GMO’s, seed and vegetable oils and highly processed food-like products.
On a personal level, we became interested in wellness out of personal pain from seeing loved ones suffer or die of preventable diseases. We believe God made our bodies capable of healing themselves, yet we see forces at work keeping this truth from being known to all. For this reason, we’ve committed ourselves to educating both ourselves and our franchisees on the principles of the Law of Health, while also supporting the global effort to reduce commercial meat production.
We believe that once you try our functional juices and vegan eats—and feel the power of phytonutrients in your body—you too will find a higher purpose in eating than simply satisfying your hunger, and you’ll want to come back again and again!
